The company Wehl & Partner, in collaboration with Wehl Green, bigD Diseño e Innovación and COVAL Consultores, has launched The Sustainable Manufacturing Loop, an industrial ecosystem that seeks to promote sustainable design and manufacturing solutions under the principles of the circular economy.
The main objective of this initiative is to optimise the use of resources, minimise waste and promote a more sustainable and efficient production model. This ecosystem, aligned with the Navarra Zirkular strategy promoted by the Government of Navarra, is based at the facilities of the Morea Sur industrial estate, in the Beriáin extension.
A model based on industrial symbiosis
The project was presented to the Regional Minister of Industry, Ecological Transition and Digital Business of Navarre, Mikel Irujo, who visited the facilities accompanied by other institutional representatives, such as Iñigo Arruti, Director General of Business Development, and Garbiñe Basterra, Director General of Energy, Business R&D&I and Entrepreneurship. During the visit, the promoters explained the different phases of the model, highlighting the importance of eco-design as a starting point.
The process includes the selection of sustainable materials, the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and the development of customised solutions for customers, all with a focus on reusing materials and reducing environmental impact.
Wehl Green: innovation in sustainable additive manufacturing
One of the pillars of the ecosystem is Wehl Green, a new business unit created by the Wehl & Partner group to lead the way in sustainable additive manufacturing. In collaboration with Stratasys, a world leader in 3D printing technologies, Wehl Green has developed a pioneering project in Europe that combines SAF H350 technology with the reuse of recycled materials from its plants in Germany.
This approach transforms industrial waste into high quality parts for various sectors, consolidating Wehl Green as a benchmark in the transition towards more sustainable production models.
A model for the future of industry
The Sustainable Manufacturing Loop is an example of how collaboration between specialised companies can drive new business opportunities based on sustainability. According to its promoters, this industrial ecosystem combines technological innovation with a firm commitment to reducing environmental impact, positioning itself as a model for the future of industry.
The initiative reinforces the capacity of Navarre's industry to lead projects that integrate eco-design, the efficient use of materials and the implementation of advanced technologies, marking a path towards more responsible and competitive production.
