01 March, 2024The Industry Summit, a new event organised by AFM Cluster, has concluded its first edition with a successful outcome, bringing together more than 150 leaders, experts and professionals from the advanced manufacturing industry at the ICEX facilities in Madrid.
The event began with a welcome address by Pablo Conde, Director of Industrial Technology and Professional Services at ICEX, followed by a speech by the Director General of Economic and Industrial Promotion of the Community of Madrid, Jaime Martínez Muñoz, and a presentation by the Director General of AFM Cluster, Xabier Ortueta.
The event's programme was top-notch, offering a wide variety of presentations and round tables with leading experts in the industry. In the morning, Alberto Turégano, expert in Data Management & Data Governance, and Alfredo Díaz-Hochleitner, Commercial Director of Robotics at ABB, spoke about data governance and digitalisation and automation in industry.
The day continued with a round table on the factory of the future, with the participation of Agustín Sáenz, Market and Technology Director at TECNALIA, Miquel Olivé, 3D Print Iberia Sales Manager at HP, Carmen Pinto, CEO of NICOLÁS CORREA, and Fernando Gastaldo, CEO of FACTOR.
In the afternoon, practical cases of effective implementation of digitalisation applications in industry, with the participation of experts such as Igor Murgiondo, Service Business Director of FAGOR AUTOMATION, Juan José Colas Lastra, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of LANTEK, and Alfonso Ganzabal, Managing Director of SISTEPLANT.
To close the event, Ángel Mateos, Business Development Manager of ARITEX, Xabier Zubizarreta, CEO of SMARTLOG GROUP, and Manuel Gallardo, Director of the Data Analytics and AI Competence Centre of GRUPO OESÍA, showed specific automation applications that are transforming the industry and defining the future of advanced manufacturing.
Through this first edition, AFM Cluster, the most powerful industrial ecosystem in the country, with its nearly 800 associated companies, has laid the foundations for future editions, consolidating itself as a reference to drive the progress and transformation of the industrial sector towards a smarter, more agile and sustainable industry.
