Optimus 3D will present on its stand at the ADDIT3D fair (J02) the motorcycle and the titanium piece, results of the collaboration with the Valencian company Bottpower.
Optimus 3D has signed a collaboration agreement with the Valencian company to further innovate the exclusive motorcycles that it manufactures, using generative design, simulation and additive manufacturing as work tools.
This specific case corresponds to the bike called BOTT 1000 Morlaco. It has a Honda engine of 954 cc. Its most important feature is the design of the front axle, which does not use a fork, and instead has an alternative front axle. The motorcycle is designed to be used in a circuit.
To calculate the loads received by the piece, a very simple CFD model has been realized with the Altair Virtual Wind Tunnel.
The Inspire itself and its built-in finite element module allow having a first idea of whether the piece meets the stress level. Once the 3D file with the design of the piece is obtained, a finite element model with Hyperworks is made, to validate the design. Finally, they fine-tune the topological design obtained for its manufacture through additive manufacturing SLM and Titanium material.
The result has allowed, among other advantages, to reduce the number of assembly components, increase innovation and exclusivity of the product for high-end customers, lighten the weight of the vehicle and streamline all phases from the design to the final manufacture of new components.
