12 February, 2025Meltio has achieved important milestones in 2024, consolidating its position as an international benchmark in metal 3D printing. The Spanish company has been awarded the prestigious 3DPI Awards 2024, the first time a Spanish company in the field of additive manufacturing has received this recognition. This achievement is in addition to the National SME of the Year Award 2023, awarded by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Banco Santander, and presented by King Felipe VI in recognition of its innovation and contribution to the industrial sector.
Growth and consolidation in a challenging marketThe year 2024 has been a key transition for Meltio, with the consolidation of its technology and strong global expansion. The company has launched two advanced solutions: the Meltio M600, its most powerful metal 3D printer to date, and Meltio Engine Blue, an industrial system that allows its 3D laser print head to be integrated into robotic arms and CNC machines. These innovations expand the ability to manufacture complex and large metal parts, positioning the company as a strategic partner in the industry.
In a context marked by economic uncertainty and the restructuring of the additive manufacturing sector, Meltio has managed to increase its turnover by more than 50% compared to the previous year. Ildefonso Fuentes, the company's financial director, stressed that this growth has been possible thanks to a strategy based on organic development and a commitment to profitability. According to Fuentes, the macroeconomic situation has created a more conservative environment for raising capital and assuming financial risks, which reinforces the importance of sustainable and efficient business models.
Technology validation in strategic sectorsMeltio has achieved technology validation in key sectors such as aerospace, defence and energy. Its ability to manufacture parts in materials such as aluminium, copper, stainless steels, titanium, Inconel and nickel has enabled its incorporation in demanding production lines. The company collaborates with reference institutions such as the US Navy, the French Navy (Marine Nationale) and the Spanish Armed Forces, which confirms the reliability and high performance of its solutions.
The recognition of the Meltio M600 at the 3D Printing Awards 2024 as ‘Enterprise 3D Printer of the Year (Metals)’ is a reflection of the impact of the company's technology in the industry. Lukas Hoppe, head of R&D at Meltio, underlined the importance of this breakthrough, noting that the company's technology has made a significant impact on the industry.
Outlook for the futureSince its founding in 2019, Meltio has installed more than 500 systems worldwide, consolidating its position in the metal additive manufacturing sector. With a strategy focused on innovation and sustainability, the company plans to continue expanding its technological capabilities in 2025, contributing to the transformation of the industrial production model with more efficient and competitive solutions.
