IK4-LORTEK, GOIERRI ESKOLA AND MONDRAGON UNIBERTSITATEA LAUNCH A MASTER·S DEGREE IN INDUSTRIAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

24 May, 2018IK4-Lortek, Goierri Eskola and Mondragon Unibertsitatea have joined forces to launch a unique master's degree in Industrial Additive Manufacturing to be taught at the Goierri campus starting in October.

This is a pioneering offer, given that at a national and European level the offer is very limited and insufficient to respond to the current and future demand for experts in these technologies. Additive manufacturing is one of the driving technologies of the 'Industry 4.0' revolution and the master's degree is focused on acquiring skills in the field of advanced and digital manufacturing.

The master offers training in 3D design and printing of metals, carbon fiber composites, biomaterials and plastics. The academic period will be from October to April, and from April to June the students will develop their final master's work in collaborating companies.

The face-to-face sessions will be held on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Ordizia campus (Guipúzcoa) and the practices will be held on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This organization of the face-to-face sessions makes it possible to combine the teaching activity of the master's degree with the work activity of professionals who are working.
The master's degree is aimed especially at graduates or technical engineers with a mechanical or similar profile and graduates in physics or chemistry. They can access other profiles depending on their work experience.

The master's organization has a modular structure and students can choose between two itineraries. They can opt for 'Additive Manufacturing in Metals' or 'Additive Manufacturing in Plastics and Composites'. In either case the students will receive an Expert Degree. To obtain the Master's Diploma in Industrial Additive Manufacturing, it will be necessary to receive training in both itineraries, completing a total of 210 teaching hours and a final master project. The master's degree is based in an active learning methodology and includes 30% of practical hours and paid Dual Training for recent graduates%MCEPASTEBIN%
