17 July, 2024Meltio, a leading Spanish multinational in metal 3D printing solutions, has reached a new milestone in its trajectory. The French Navy, known as Marine Nationale, has validated Meltio's technology for the first time for the manufacture and repair of metal parts on board the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier. This breakthrough enables the Navy's engineers to 3D print stainless steel parts from the high seas, providing fast and efficient support from the aircraft carrier to the mainland.
This validation adds to those already obtained by Meltio in other defence sectors. Meltio's technology is installed and operational on a US Navy ship and is used by the Spanish Army. These achievements highlight the growing adoption of Meltio's solutions in the military, consolidating its technological contribution to the defence of several countries.
The patented technology of Meltio, based in Linares (Jaén), stands out for its ability to offer innovative and efficient solutions in the additive manufacturing of metal parts. Its application in critical sectors such as the military underlines the reliability and versatility of its products. In addition, the company exports its solutions to more than 50 countries, extending its influence and technological validation worldwide.
The validation by the Marine Nationale not only strengthens Meltio's position in the defence market, but also opens up new opportunities for its technology in other armed forces and industrial sectors. Countries around the world are in the process of evaluating and possibly adopting Meltio's technology, which could mean significant growth in the adoption of metal 3D printing in various industrial applications.
This milestone marks a significant advance in the military's ability to maintain and repair equipment in critical situations, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency. The ability to produce spare parts where and when they are needed represents a considerable strategic advantage, especially in military operations where speed and reliability are crucial.
The validation of Meltio's technology by the French Navy, along with those already carried out by the US Navy and the Spanish Army, confirms the robustness and reliability of Meltio's metal 3D printing solutions. This international recognition highlights the company's ability to lead in innovation and technology in advanced manufacturing.
