31 October, 2023AIMEN will be present at FORMNEXT 2023 to showcase the most prominent outcomes of their ongoing R&D projects and the center's expertise in metal additive manufacturing (laser arc and DED) and composites (thermoplastics and thermosets, AFP, RTM, LRI, and thermoforming), additive manufacturing of composites (FFF, robotized LFAM, filaments and pellets development), and smart and functional materials. The sectors they focus on include automotive, aeronautics, and energy, among others. AIMEN will be located in Hall 11.0 - Stand E70.
Among AIMEN's noteworthy projects is the European initiative DOMMINIO, led by AIMEN, which seeks to develop an innovative data-driven methodology for designing, maintaining, and pre-certifying multifunctional and intelligent airframe components through a cost-effective, flexible, and multi-stage system that combines robotic technologies like ATL (Automated Tape Laying) and FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication).
PULSATE, another endeavor coordinated by AIMEN, has the primary goal of establishing a pan-European network aimed at encouraging SMEs to engage in the LBAAM Innovation Ecosystem (Additive and advanced manufacturing based on laser technologies).
AIMEN also participates as a partner in the BIOMAC project, which aims to drive innovation in bioeconomy across European industries. This initiative has created an open innovation testing ecosystem (OITB) consisting of 17 pilot plants distributed in eleven countries for scaling new biobased and nanostructured materials. This ecosystem serves as an access point for SMEs, large industries, and R&D entities interested in developing novel applications and products in this field, fostering innovation and minimizing investment risks.
Additional initiatives that visitors can explore at AIMEN's stand include LIGHTME, READI, RETPAIR, OVERLEAF, H2ELIOS, CAELESTIS, and CARBO4POWER.
