TKNIKA is the Basque VET applied research centre. Its aim is to dynamise the network of vocational training centres in order to achieve organisations with the capacity to innovate and adapt to the environment. From a technological point of view, TKNIKA researches different emerging technologies to identify the possibilities they offer for VET and to facilitate their adoption in educational centres through networking and teacher training.
As a result of the collaboration with Stratasys, TKNIKA is an authorised training centre in FDM and Polyjet technologies. In the field of additive metal manufacturing the focus is on WAAM, LMD and SLM. They work in several lines of interest: reverse engineering and scanning processes, topological optimization processes, development of practical cases and demonstration pieces in different materials, and medical applications such as segmentation and printing of hyper-realistic models.
