At the onset, additive manufacturing technologies mainly focussed on plastic materials for prototyping, but they have now been overwhelmingly incorporated into the panorama of technologies for industrial manufacturing.
Freedom of design, material variety and hybridisation, the increase in speeds and printing precision are improving at a dizzy rate, and the growth of possible applications can be seen throughout the length and breadth of industry (aerospace, biomedical, automotive, etc…)
We are on the brink of becoming witnesses of the mass incorporation of this new manufacturing solution into different industries.
The additive manufacturing sector employs 700 people in Spain and had a turnover of 120M Euros in 2019, which is expected to receive a strong boost in 2020 as perceived in the market.
